mail server password required keeps popping up

Hi there
Trying to help my octogenarian Dad with a Thunderbird problem, a programme I don't use myself.
He keeps getting a message pop up asking to confirm his password, either when sending emails or just opening up the programme. A quick google search has revaled a number of other people struggling with this, but i can't find a definitive solution. Can anyone suggest one? It seems to relate to server settings somewhere...
Passwords haven't been changed.

First, let's have a look at his Thunderbird environment. Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Copy text to clipboard. Paste this in your next reply.
