Text not rendering in firefox menus and search bar
Hello all! i have had this niggly problem for a while now. so in the firefox search bar, the hisroty of the websites visited does not render properly it's the same with the firefox OPTIONS page, some text is invisible. you can select and copy and paste it, but can't see it, looks like it's highlighted white-on-white it's the same story for some websites, only on and off sometimes, re-loading the webpage makes it work but you cannot always do that, e.g in the middle of a financial transaction i have tried resetting firefox completely uninstalling/reinstalling nothing works only happens on my windows 7 machine, my ubuntu firefox works fine i am pulling my hair out hehe
would be great to hear any suggestions of how to fix this
best regards
conrad

What you were missing in the screenshot on the about:preferences page is bold text, so the font that Firefox was using didn't support bold text for some reason.
You can't easily check the font on this about page as you would first have to open the Inspector and then in the Inspector click the button at the at the left end of the toolbar to pick an element from the page to inspect its properties.
You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Font tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.

SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!! incidentally, i installed wordpress and the whole of the WP set-up page was empty of text!
i inspected it, and it seemed to call the segoe ui font
replaced it from a bootleg download and the whole thing worked perfectly again!
must have been a corrupted font??
