Dragging Message From Inbox to Folders Problem

With the most recent update, I started having a problem that's corrupting my email. I'm on 68.3.1 on Windows 10. When I attempt to drag a message from the inbox over to one of my folders on the left pane, it somehow changes and grabs an entire folder (like Sent Mail) rather than the message I was trying to drag. I'm a lifetime computer user and this is a common, simple operation, but it really screws up my mail when this happens - missing messages (who knows where it put them), folders now nested under other folders they don't belong under, etc. When I just did Help/About it updated to 68.4.1 so maybe that will fix it?

Update: 68.4.1 didn't fix this. Also having a problem where I click once on a message to select it and see it in the preview window below, and Thunderbird acts like I double-clicked it and opens it in a new tab.

Both problems point to a defective mouse. Do you have the same problem moving if you use the Message/Move To command, instead of drag and drop?

If I use the right-click context menu to do Move To it works fine, but this is extremely non-productive compared to just dragging it. I spend all day and night on my computer, use it for personal stuff and to run my two businesses. No other issues in any other apps, which makes me think perhaps it's in Thunderbird's code related to mouse dragging/dropping? Someone else posted a similar message around 9/19 I believe (I replied to it today), said mouse dragging "wasn't working" or something without much detail.

It may be a problem with TB, although I don't see it myself, but most reports of this nature end up being caused by faulty hardware. You could run in Windows safe mode in case it's a driver issue. Or just try a different mouse.

There was an issue on Linux where dragging was difficult due to a graphic overlay:

but moving a single message didn't move multiple ones.
