I'm not sure whether you mean the Firefox window takes up only half the screen, or the web page only takes up half the Firefox window (not using the full width), or the text/images are half the size they should be (too small). Could you describe the problem in a little more detail?

Can't you drag the borders of the Firefox window to make the window larger?

You may have accidentally zoomed web page(s). Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

  • View -> Zoom -> Reset (Ctrl+0/Command+0 (zero))

You can try to rename/remove the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
