What has happened to My Yahoo home page - cannot install

My Yahoo page will not install. Receive message that indicates it is in a redirect loop that cannot be fulfilled. This has been this way for 3 days and I see many messages on Yahoo from others who also are having the problem. Is the problem with Yahoo or with Firefox??

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or otherwise problems with cookies.

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing cookies and cache isn't working the first time then try to repeat these steps.

It's the cookies!!

Someone at Yahoo must have changed something and didn't account for the cookies already stored by dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of Firefox users. The fix is to remove all your Yahoo cookies in Firefox so you can get a fresh set that's compatible with Yahoo's changes, but I don't think anyone knows the exact details of what happened.
