Since a few days I can see my incoming emails in my 'Postvak in'. When I click on the place where they supposed to be they open correctly, but why I can't see them. I look around and found https://forum.ubuntu-nl.org/index.php?topic=67139.0 but I cant find the mentioned folders. Another question is when I remove my mails in webmail the same mails are removed from my computer. Can somebody help me.

If you repair the problem folder is it better?

Right click the folder and select Properties. Then Repair Folder.

As for your second question, it sounds like you are using IMAP email and that is how it works. It is server based and you view the messages on the server remotely. If you delete a message from any device or the server they are gone. You can make a folder under Local Folders in Thunderbird and save a copy of the message there. Once you know you have a readable copy in that folder you can delete it from the server.

What you describe is what one sees where the update process screwed up and the Lightning addon is causing problems. You probably recently updated to 38.5.0??

- start Thunderbird in safe mode

 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode

- go to tools | addons - remove the lightning addon - restart - start thunderbird - if you need the lightning addon, add it back at tools | addons

I tried it twiche but it didn't work. Only my incomming mail I cannot see anymore. Do you have more suggestions. Thanks!!
