How do I delete extra "IN" & "TRASH" boxes -- I have 2 of each!

I had trouble receiving messages, so I asked Cogeco (my internet provider) for assistance. They gave me a web site to go to to fix the problem. I did what it said to do. Now, I have 2 "IN" boxes and 2 "TRASH" boxes so I have to delete everything four times! When I right-click, I don't have the option to 'delete' the folder. Can anyone assist me with my problem. Thanks so much.
