I see in the forum that others have this problem, and also that suggested fixes do not seem to work. It would be easy if Comcast included Thunderbird as an export destination, but alas it does not. It's hard to believe that a work-around does not exist.

lets get a couple of things clear.

Comcast offers a mail server. Thunderbird is a mail client. A perfect fit.

Comcast also offer some sort of web mail. This is not "email" as such so none of the email protocols deal with this sort of thing specifically.

The IMAP protocol comes closes as it can download folders other than the Inbox. POP mail protocol can only see the inbox.

Comcast for Decades has only offered POP mail access from mail clients. (Got to keep your customers some how, when your product and service are lacking I suppose)

Comcastr are finally unbending their corporate back (the iphone and ipad popularity along with windows 8s requirement for imap might have helped) but they now offer imap with xfinity https://xcsignup.comcast.net/onboardingapps/imap
