Firefox crashes each time i hit on a magnet link. It didn't in the past. I have disabled all add-ons and even extensions and it still crashes.

Can you give me your crash reports?

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and paste them into your response here.

Looks like your crash is caused by an NVIDIA display driver (@ nvd3d9wrap.dll)

Try updating your graphics card driver using Windows Update by following the instructions below

More info:

If you can't find any newer updates to your NVIDIA driver, try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox. Firefox has hardware acceleration set to "on" by default, but it's still young, which means some video cards or drivers might have problems with it. You can try to disable hardware acceleration to see if that alleviates your problems.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps for Firefox version 29.0 and above:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options for Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux. For Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Solution provided to download latest Nvidia graphic driver did not work because when i tried to do that, it said i had the latest driver in place. I then followed the instructions to switch off firefox accelerator and that didn't work either. Help!

Is firefox going to reply to my plea for help? Their solution does not work. Maybe i should just uninstall my firefox browser for good!

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Did Firefox still crash while in Safe Mode? {web link}

Did you turn off hardware acceleration?

i turned off hardware acceleration. And no, i did not try starting up in safe mode. I've even tried reinstalling firefox with no plug ins or add-ons. It's ok. I've given up on firefox.

Sorry about the wait. E-mails haven't been coming through the past day so I have to manually sort through the questions I've answered.

Do you have any newer Firefox crash reports I can get?
