When you say blue star, are you referring to the bookmark icon? If that's the case, you may want to see Bookmarks in Firefox to check out multiple ways to save a bookmark.

Otherwise, try restarting Firefox to see if it may helps.

In the end I refreshed Firefox and that did the trick. But thank you.
