Are you sure it's Firefox?

Firefox is not a search engine, But it uses search engines. Which engine are you using? Change its search settings.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Are FF starting to censor and decide which sites I am being allowed to visit??? I go to a perfectly ok and well known computerbiz in sweden (inet.se) and are not allowed to visit by Firefox. Is this som kind of censorship or...? (On another browser it works fine)

It is perfectly ok for FF to warn but not to decide and have no alternatives!!! This started today and I have always been able to visit this site before. Stop it or I must change browser!

Not censorship, but security. There are many bad websites out there. Many are known to send malware or ransomware.

What is the web address you are trying to connect to?

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

Have you looked through that article? as it explains many of the causes for this. English version of article is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-does-your-connection-is-not-secure-mean

A simple reason is due to date/time being incorrect on your OS

A common cause of late is due to some antivirus clients trying to help you be safe by inserting their own certificate if enabled in client and instead causes this problem instead of helping.

Read it and I had no Advanced button to use. It is a completely legit site which I know because that I know the domain. It was the first time this problem had occurred - and just on FF.

Now it is back to normal again and I can visit the website again.

I really do not know the mechanics of this thing - but generally - it is not ok to block with no options. That´s one move to far I think.

Hi Mike, there's the issue. Most likely Firefox received a certificate that did not match the site or could not be verified as legitimate. In other words, connecting to that site under those circumstances could be interacting with an interloper rather than the real site you trust.

When you get that temporarily and only for one or a few sites with no pattern, it's difficult to diagnose, but it's possible that there was a temporary problem with the site and your internet service provider or another opportunist (some free software includes this feature) was diverting you to a page full of ads to capitalize on the situation. If you ever see such a page when you just made an error typing the site or try to visit a server that's down, check whether there is a way to "opt out" of that "service."

Understand - it is perfectly ok and very good that FF warns - but the final decision should be the users. I miss that option. In this case it is like you visit a very well known domain on the Internet - they do not spam - and you can not get through. There were surely some temp error but on all other browsers it went fine. My only point here is that you should have the option to push on.

Thanks again - you´re very nice here at the FF support. FF is the best and I will keep on use it on my new pc.
