The Customize button appears but when clicked it only shows what Options shows, what is the matter and how to solve?
I have used Customize tab to customize my Firefox. Today however, the button only reveals the same as Options tab reveals. So Customize is unavailable now. (At the same time Firefox remembers passwords but doesnt put them in when I open a page - any solution to this?).

Did you already try safe mode?
Also this can be a problem with the file xulstore.json or XUL.mfl, try go to your profile folder and delete or rename these files, then restart Firefox.
Make another question for it:

Can you open the about:customizing page via the location/address bar?
You could also try right clicking on a toolbar space and selecting customize.
