Not loading "http://", Only loading "https://" pages?

Secure pages are loading perfectly.

But some the pages with "http://" are not loading. When I edit those links to "https://"... Some of them are loading again. But not all websites are loading.

PS: This problem happening every time mostly "Torrent sites".

Hello BLUE_AG, in your system details it seems that you have in your profile folder a User.js file.

The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file (some programs create and write in the file also), and check if the issue still exist.

thank you

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I had exactly the same problem!! After a lot of brainstorming and thouroughly searching the internet the thought came to me that it might be some application I had installed that was blocking the 8080 door (http). So I went to the Control Panel > Install/Uninstall Software and uninstalled the antivirus software, the firewall (which was not the Windows one), rebooted and http pages as https pages load perfectly well!!

I'm not an expert but maybe some torrents software might block it too... So take your chances and uninstall all this kind of software (I only left the windows firewall on). Worked for me!!

Hope it helped!
