Can't open .pdf or .jpg
A few weeks ago, either I inadvertently changed a setting or when I upgraded my Firefox, I am now unable to open any .pdf, .jpg, etc. on websites or my webmail. If I try to save the file to the harddisk, all I get is a zero byte file.

Hey,
now, this means that one of your add-ons is causing the problem. Try to disable one add-on at a time to see which one it is.

Hey,
to me it looks like plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types is what's causing the issues.
1. Enter about:config in Firefox and press Enter, confirm the security exception.
2. Now, search for the above preference name.
3. Right-click on it and select Reset.

Fast reply, Tobbi! Unfortunately, I followed your suggestion(s), opened and closed Firefox, and no change. Any other suggestions? By the way, I tried to UNINSTALL and then reinstall Firefox (WITHOUT deleting my personal information). Doing all that produced nothing as well. I'm ready to pull my hair out. (By the way, I've been a computer consultant for several decades, but my experience is not helping!) -- Wendy Lea
Does How to start Firefox in Safe Mode help anything?

AHA! Yes...safe mode worked! So...what does that now tell me how to correct the issue? -- Wendy Lea

You are a GEM, Tobbi. I disabled ALL of them (as I can always add them back in). I can now open all types of files again. THANK YOU!!!!! --Wendy Lea
