I downloaded and installed the Firefox 4 1 hour ago - it disabled 5 toolbars previously active in FF3.6 and replaced 2, which is ok. What was whacked was NORTON360 toolbar with its Identity Safe (of passwords and sign-ons) citing INCOMPATABILITY and that is not OK. Fortunately I have that backed up on an external BUT Norton says they will not have a version with compat. to FF4 until MAY, SO (a) can I revert back to the original 3.6 without downloading a replacement version OR in the event that I must download where the heck is it??? All the Mozilla sites want me to DL version 4, at least the 6 that I tried.... Can you help with a direct link to a DL of FF 3.6 in that event? Brian

Yes, 4.0 really sucks. For one thing it seems to be slowing down my system considerably. It is not nearly as intuitive and user-friendly as the previous 3.6.16 version is. I would implore Mozilla to keep 3.6.16 around for quite a while longer. It ain't broke. Why "fix" it?

Yes, 4 really does suck and it wasn't broke, you are absolutely correct, NYCpubcrawler.

A funny aside: the id 'firefox4sucks' was already taken, I had to come up with a new one.

So, are the techie morons going to graciously allow us to go BACK to 3.6 while they go BACK to the drawing board on 4? Or do I have to uninstall it and use another browser? Better yet, will they fire all the techie morons who didn't do enough TESTING on the suck 4 and hire new techie morons who roll out updates that aren't needed before they are ready?

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll???????????????????????????????????????????

Ah, sunveer seems to have a solution. Let's see if it works. No matter, the techies are still idiots and shouldn't have rolled out 4 before its time.

What kind of problems are you all facing. Please elaborate.

There are millions of people who are downloading and enjoying with this new browser including me.

I was the Beta Tester of Firefox 4 and because I am very impressed by my new browser, that's why I am actively contributing to the Mozilla Support Forums from the date of release of Firefox 4.0 to help the users who are completely experiencing a new phase of firefox.

If you refer to my message above about the elimination of toolbars for "incompatibility" including my well-developed and essential to daily operation Norton 360 Identity Safe then you would understand my discontent...I am having to use IE8 right now because the link that SUNVEER sent to 3.6.16 not only didn't answer the install/reinstall or revert question...the link crashed my system when I DL'ed it using FF4. Nobody needs that kind of hassle...So I downloaded SUNVEERS link with IE8 and now have it as a file to execute. In that sense ONLY it solved the problem. I understand the "Beta" implication so I guess it doesn't serve useful function to get hot about it...

Why Is it, that every time you do an upgrade you rearrange the template on the start up page? not to mention all the Add-on Icons have now disappeared from the top header, making it more time consuming to receive info I need. Please send me instructions on how to restore my old version. In the mean time, you may want to take away that Medical cannabis perk from all your web designers, until they come up with an upgrade that's more inclined to be in this world and not representative of the doped up 9 year old U tube child who just got back form the Oral surgeon.

On 4-19 I posted the following message to forum Meanwhile I'm going back to 3.6. I also beta tested FF4 but it wasn't until the 4.0.1 version was released I had any problems.

OS 10.6.7 FireFox 4.0.1 just upgraded Now 1. I can't navigate between tabs only the latest one, 2. When I click on the small plus sign to create a new tab nothing happens if I double click on the plus sign it minimizes FireFox the keyboard short cut will create a new tab but then I can’t select any of the other tabs showing 3. I can’t organize tabs by click hold and dragging to a new position or between other FireFox windows. 4. txt across the top bar is black and hard to read

Of course like all the others who wrote asking for help with this FF 3.6 upgrade to FF4.0 which trashed (my) otherwise tidy ethernet existence I DID retro back to 3.6 using the official link to do so ONLY TO HAVE THAT MALFUNCTION as well in other ways. Conclusion: Thanks for NOTHING. I reinstalled FF 4.0 and UPGRADED to IE9 which NEVER had a problem with Norton 360 Identity Safe in the first place and now have the HASSLE of having to bank and do secure transactions with secured passwords with IE9 and run Mozilla FF 4.0 for everything else until our friends at Symantec can program a fix, HOPEFULLY BEFORE MY NORTON RENEWAL DATE, get it????? Gee, this is getting really old, but Symantec promised a fix in May. Stay tuned.

I'm having a ton of problems with 4.0 and I'm going back to 3.6.

If you've been lucky enough to not update to 4.0.1 you can get a patch from Norton called Hotfix tool. It restores the Norton toolbar for 4.0, but won't work f0r 4.0.1. I'm going back to IE. The Norton toolbar works just fine with IE. Firefox can stuff it. Mike

I'd love to go back from 4.0.1 to 4.0 or earlier. Can anyone tell me how to go about doing that? Thanks, Mike
