Plugin check is returning incorrect result
I have Adobe Acrobat 9.3 plugin and Windows XP. Firefox 3.6.3. When i hit "Find Updates", the plugin check tells me "Outdated Version" and i need to update it. But the latest version is 9.3 and already installed. The plugin check result is therefore wrong. I have restarted my machine already but no difference.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened

I have the same problem (Firefox 3.6.3 Vista Service Pack 2)
The Plugin Check page opens download page for 9.3 but not the update download page for update 9.3.2 http://www.adobe.com/support/download.../product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows
Easiest way is to start 9.3 and search for updates by help menu
The current version of Adobe Reader is 9.3.2.#. Check your version in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins. You probably have version 9.3.1.#. Adobe Reader 9.3.2.# is detectable by plug-in check; prior versions are not (see next paragraph for more information).
There are problems in recognizing version numbers unless the developer makes the complete version numbers readily available for recognition; see: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Plugins:PluginDirectory/HowPluginDetectionWorks#Version_is_not_directly_exposed
Adobe does not show the complete version on their download page - BIG MISTAKE - and can be misleading for users.
Alex Dau is correct. In Windows, go to Start > Programs. locate and click on Adobe Reader, in Adobe Reader, click Help then click Check for Updates.
