Magnet downloads
How do I set up a torrent client as my default magnet downloader on Firefox? Checking the "always use box" does no good because every subsequent time the same requirement is asked. I'm sure this question has been asked a million times and I don't understand why ticking the box once doesn't solve the problem Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, that box is site-specific permission, which is checked BEFORE asking you how to open the link. It looks like Firefox has remembered your preferred program for opening the link, but isn't remembering that you've allowed this site to launch those links.
Firefox should remember site permissions because they are written to disk. However, if you are using automatic private browsing ("Never Remember History"), then Firefox is not allowed to save site-specific data to disk. Also, if you set Firefox to clear site settings when it closes, Firefox will delete this permission.
By the way, the reason site permission was added was back in the early days of everyone getting Zoom, random sites would auto-launch you into a public meeting with a zoommtg: link. If your camera and mic were on, this could be a bit of a problem...
Thank you. I did have it set up for clear all history on closing. I've since changed that and magnets work consistently.
