Your answers says I do not need to list a cell phone but when I try to log in I get a screen that asks for cell number (shich I don't have) and I can't get past

Recently I installed Thunderbird. When I tried to add a feature it asked me for a username and password under a Firefox logo and so I entered mine as recorded in Norton Password Manager and it did not work. So I went to Norton and tried to log on directly to Mozilla Firefox but that also doesn't work. So I asked to change my password (it already had my email address) and I did so after you sent a link to me via my gmail account. That all seemed done but when I tried to log in although it recognized my new password it gave me a screen asking for a cellphone number. I do not have a cell phone. Unfortunately this screen could not be passed without filling in a number. This page provided no other choices, would not respond to ESC nor refreshing with F5. It has been a very long time since I last had to use my id and password to login to use my Firefox 63.0.1 (64-bit). Now I am afraid to reboot my PC lest I completely loose my ability to use my favorite browser. Moreover it does not look promising to get answers from Mozilla if I do not have a password to go with my regular e-mail address. Surely I am not the only one who either does not have a cell phone or does not want to share their number.

You do not need a username, password, email address or phone number in order to use the Firefox web browser on any device whether desktop Firefox on Windows, Mac OSX, Linux or mobile Firefox for Android or iOS.

Perhaps you were prompted to login a Firefox account to sync between Firefox on two devices. This is optional.

The Thunderbird email client and Firefox web browser are two separate programs as one does not need the other to work in any way.

The whole time you did not explain what you meant by "add a feature".
