How can I retrieve my username and password without losing any data?

I lost a lot of data when my computer had to be reformatted. I had lots of saved bookmarks and passwords in Firefox, but I can't access them without logging in, and I'll lose them if I reset my password.

Aside from that, I don't remember the username, email address, or password I used to create an account many years ago. However, the email address is one of several possibilities. If I could talk to a real person who can view my account, I can verify it's mine by naming those email addresses as well as some of the saved bookmarks and bookmark folders.

Can I talk to a real person to verify my account? The "Contact" options on this site just send people in circles.

hi cottonwood18, as your firefox account password is the only way to decrypt the data associated to your sync account, it's not technically possible to get back to your data without it unfortunately. mozilla itself has no way to get to that data as it's only present on the servers in encrypted form.

do you have any backups or other devices connected to that same sync account available?
