I got the message headers, but they were all empty.

5 New messages showed up, but there was no message detail. I restated Chrome, now 1 of them is there, but the other 4 no longer have their headers either, but there is a line implying that they are there. I just received your "Please confirm your e-mail" message, and the detail in that message is there. How can I figure out what the missing 4 messages were?

I was using Thunderbird. My son upgraded Linux for me (it was Ubuntu, now Debian). My e-mail now says it is Icedove. (I have no idea why.) My son showed me how to get at the messages using the google web interface, where I found and restored the messages, so my immediate problem is fixed, but I don't know if I did something wrong to lose them in the first place. Kinda scary for a 65 year old luddite. Anyway, thanks for trying to help. Kate Logan
