I have followed all the suggestions I can find but 'Import & Backup' > 'Restore' does nothing. The backups are listed but when I click on them nothing happens, neither when I try 'Choose File'.

Hi, your old Firefox profile, should be in a folder on your Desktop entitled Old Firefox Data. See Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings, but first try restarting Firefox - 3-bar menu > Exit Firefox in bottom right corner.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database file then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database file from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Apologies for the delay but thanks for your replies folks. I had already tried most things but when I looked closer at the files I noticed the newest few were a fraction of the size of the others. The problem which caused FF to get 'buggy' must have also affected it's backups. When I tried an older larger file, all the bookmarks came back apart from the last few days. Ta, T.
