How can I configure the security settings of Firefox?
As it said in title, I want to know how I can configure the security settings of Firefox. I don't want malware to take advantage of the vulnerabilities in the browser to attack my PC and I also want to surf the Internet more safely, without being redirected to phishing sites, being disturbed by annoying pop-ups and receving fake alert messages, etc. Please help me!!

While Firefox does offer some protection, you really need a dedicated virus/malware scanning software on your computer.
You say that you do not want malware taking advantage of vulnerabilities in the browser. Keep your browser updated. If there *is* a vulnerability in the browser, then the security settings in the browser are probably not going to help anyway ... hence the definition of the phrase "vulnerability in the browser".
Also, keep your addons like Java and Flash updated. That's probably where many viruses come in through.
In addition to security software, there are some tools that take different approaches that you could check out.
- OpenDNS "PhishTank" protection (supplements the built-in protection): https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/
- This is free for home use
- Works by blocking your browser from accessing suspicious sites (kicks in if you try to load the bad page)
- Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antiexploit/
- This is free for home use
- Protects your system from attacks delivered through browsers and other commonly attacked applications
