Can Firefox be made to play Facebook voice messages?

I have noticed that the some months old feature of Facebook, the voice messages, hasn't been updated into Firefox code so that Firefox can play the .mp4 voice messages that the mobile Facebook Messenger records. So now, a rival browser opens it, but Firefox doesn't and i am a die hard Firefox user, so i have to listen to voice messages through my mobile device, which is time-consuming. Would you consider a fix for it, or can you show me one, as a plugin or codec maybe?

What happens when you try to listen to the message, or is it not even visible?

Firefox on Windows 7 can play MP4 media natively in the HTML5 player, if the site has coded it that way (and your Windows has the Media Foundation installed). Or the Flash player probably can handle it. I'd have to see how it is set up in the page.

I'm not a big FB user. How would I send myself a voice message for testing (or have someone send me a message)?

You could send a voice message through your mobile device using Facebook Messenger to one of your friends. Afterwards, you can try hearing it. All i get on my computer is a rolling sign of the voice message loading, but nothing after it. It is really annoying and i consider it really time consuming :( Thanks for the answer though!
