I had been using fox for so many years, now this issue is something terrible at least for me. Just for testing, when i use IE and load Dailymotion website, the thumbnails & animation of videos works perfect while when i same log Dailymotion into Fox,it seems all mess,no thumbnails of videos is displayed. The thing i noticed, its specially in my account, and in that of my Followings category and so of favourites, while other video thumbnails of dailymotion works fine.In simple term, only my followings videos thumbnails are not displayed specially when i turn age filter OFF.i tried to input the same channel which i follow by logging out of my account but again its seems not just the account related problem but something else.I also updated Flash,re-installed fox, reseted fox and all that stuff which make no hope. Please help me to sort out with this strange problem .

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

I have had the same problem. I thought I was the only one! If you turn off the age gate at Dailymotion the thumbnail for most videos disappears. I tried to delete cookies, clear cache, and run Firefox in safe mode. None of this makes a difference.

You can try to clear the Site Preferences or possibly use "Forget About This Site".

Cleared all history for Dailymotion, including the "Forget about this site" button for Library. Cleared my cache. Removed all cookies for Dailymotion. Re-started Firefox in safe mode. Went to the website. Thumbs were there. Turned off the age gate. Most of the thumbnails for age restricted videos disappeared. It has been happening for a long time.

This is interesting. If I right click on a blacked out thumbnail and select "view image," I get a new window and can view the individual thumbnail, even when the Dailymotion age gate is on. It shouldn't work only this way though...

When I switch the view: View > Page Style > select "No Page Style," I can also see the thumbnails now, but of course the whole page looks terrible.

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.

  • Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.

Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

What it means........elaborate please. I didn't understood

Most of the proposed solutions above would affect being able to see thumbnails at ANY website. The problem occurs only at Dailymotion.com, and the problem ONLY occurs when you turn off the age gate. I checked permissions for the webpage and nothing is set to be blocked. Everything is at default, and it wouldn't be otherwise unless I changed it. Avast! is NOT responsible for blocking thumbnails ONLY at Dailymotion.com. AdBlock Plus (and my other add ons) do not function when in safe mode. As I said above, the thumbnails are missing even in safe mode. This has something to do with how Firefox interacts with the age gate at Dailymotion.

It's because Firefox isn't handling the "blur" effect on restricted video thumbnails, and is just showing them black instead. Here's the fix for the blur, which also makes the thumbnails appear correctly in Firefox: http://freestyler.ws/style/99502

I was having the same problem as the person who started this thread, and this really works. Thanks crcfail.

crcfail is correct that the problem is the blur effect. There's also a Stylish script available that works, which is what I used: https://userstyles.org/styles/105099/dailymotion-preview-blur-disabler
