Something is slowing down Firefox when browsing Facebook, Odnoslassniki and LinkedIn. Sometimes I get an error message of Java not responding but mostly I don't. Watching videos on YouTube from those websites also makes the computer slow down. However, RuTube works fine with hardly any hitches.

This is on a Windows 8.1 laptop with 4GB of RAM.

Things I've done:

-Checked on a laptop of a similar spec and Firefox on that machine doesn't slow down on the same sites, when using the same Wi-Fi network. -Scanned with Malwarebytes several times over the past week. -Reset Firefox and used no add-ons. The result is the same. -Updated Flash player and Java to their latest versions.

I would really appreciate some help in getting Firefox to work smoothly :)

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.

Flash is notorious for not cleaning out the older version as part of an update. Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.
