"Login to Xmarks" keeps coming up and freezing our Firefox

A box with "Login to Xmarks" keeps popping up on the screen. It freezes Firefox. We have to shut down the computer to open Firefox again. After a short time the box appears again. As far as we know we have never signed in for Xmarks. How do we get this off the computer?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
