I want Google in the upper-right search bar. All defaults have been erased. Clicking on "Manage Search Engines" doesn't offer Google as an option. What do I do?
Running various anti-spyware programs to fix a Google search hijack/redirect problem, somehow all the default options that are originally supplied by Firefox for search engines in the search bar to the right of the URL bar have disappeared. In the "Manage Search Engines" window, the "Restore Defaults" button is greyed out and not operational. The "Get more search engines" link takes me to a long list of search engines which does NOT show the usual defaults, like Google. How do I get Google back into the search bar? (You correctly show my current browser and OS.)

If you did not add any search engines yourself, you should be able to restore the defaults with the "Restore Defaults" button from within Manage at the bottom of the listed search engines.
You can add any engine yourself to the Search Bar with the "Add to Search Bar" extension. After installing, bring up http://www.google.com then right click in the search area on the web page and chose "Add to Search Bar".

You can add Google search from MyCroft then click on Google* then choose the first engine at the t0p for Google.
Do you see the default search engines in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) ?
If not then reinstall Firefox on top of the current installation.
You can find the latest Firefox release here:
