I go to tools > options> security and check the "Remember Passwords" box. I go back later and check it and it's still checked.

As soon as I open a new tab requiring a password, no username or password shows. When I check the tools > options> security page again, the check has disappeared from the Remember Passwords box.

I've done it dozens of times with the same results ??

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you Cor-el. I tried it in safe mode and it worked fine. I then did a restart with all add ons disabled and it still works. I will re enable add ons as needed to see which one fouls things up.

Thanks for your help.
