since I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 I no longer get prompted for username and password. Is this a bug with this release?
I recently upgraded to Firefox 4. Now my username and passwords do not work. I have no exceptions. If I look at saved username and passwords I do not have any. I went under tools, security and have the box checked for save username and passwords. I never get prompted to save the information like I did before.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode.
- You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
- To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
