Is there a way to make new bookmarks appear at the top of a menu folder instead of the bottom?

I know of an extension that will sort bookmarks for me by reverse-date-added but then newly added bookmarks will still be added to the bottom until resorted. Since the newest bookmarks are ones that we most often use, I'm not sure why the default is to have to scroll all the way down to get to them. Thanks!

Sorry, that's the default action and there isn't a hidden preference to change that action, without installing an extension.

When I want to save a new bookmark near the top of the list, I open the Bookmarks Sidebar - {Ctrl + B} - and drag the website image (Favicon) from either the Location bar or the Tab into the spot in the Sidebar that I want the new bookmark to be located, to save that new bookmark. That "drag'n'drop" also works with the Bookmarks Menubar drop-down; that action will open the Bookmarks menu.
