The first time I did that procedure I got tired of waiting and thought that Firefox was "hung"; so I closed Firefox by killing the process via the Windows Task Manager which was a big mistake. Lost everything in my Profile; the data getting sent to the new, refreshed Profile is held in RAM and killing Firefox deletes the data in RAM. Fortunately I made a backup of my Profile beforehand and was able to recover all my data manually. Is that what happened to you?
