The spamarrest.com won't even load for me right now, so maybe they are having a problem.

Spamarrest was down and now is back up. But that is not the problem. Even when it is up 45 will not download new email.

I don't get an error message. It just times out. TB 31 works perfectly but when I go to 38 or 45, it will not load my new email.
Try these settings.
Thunderbird menu: Tools: Account Settings On the left select "Server Settings" under your Spam Arrest account. On the right, change the: - Port number to 993 - Connection security to SSL/TLS - Authentication method to Normal Password
To be consistent, you should also change the "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" to also use SSL/TLS: Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" on left side. On the right side, select Spam Arrest and click the "Edit" button. Change: - Connection security" to SSL/TLS - Authentication method to Normal Password
