When forwarding, addressees reappear as different keys punched.
My correspondents are all listed neatly in my Address Book. However, when I attempt to forward, or to create mail, I must select names by keying through the alphabet. Therein lies the problem! For example, I'll press "A" and a drop-down displays all addressees listed in the Address Book under "A". Unfortunately, it also includes other names which do not qualify, except that an "A" appears somewhere in their name or email address. And, these folks keep popping up as I proceed through the list. They are joined by others as I key through the alphabet. So I must continually remember who to ignore and who to include. Most time consuming and annoying.

What else do you want to happen? You have an Address Book full of Contacts; at some point you have to choose from them to address an email message. Only you know who to send to; computers do not read minds.
Have you tried the Contacts Sidebar in the Write window? F9 toggle it on and off.
For myself, I much prefer what you're currently doing. Have you tried typing the 2nd or 3rd letters to refine the list of suggestions?
It seems crazy to do the searching myself when with a little bit of typing I can indicate to the program what I want and let it do all the hard work. I use addons which allow the same sort of search-by-typing for filing my messages. Thumbing through lists (remember telephone directories, dictionaries, indexes? ) is what we had to do before we had computers.
