Thunderbird 45 impersonates other senders by default when using Edit as New
My team makes heavy use of the "Edit as New" feature for resending similar messages. However, sometimes the most similar message is one that was sent by another person. We've seen since people have updated to Thunderbird 45 that when we use "Edit as New", it defaults to sending as that other user, not our default identities. This is causing problems with our reporting. Is there any way to force it to always use our default identity?

There's a 'Folder Account' add-on that helps to manage default identities. I don't fully understand what you're trying to do, but it might help?
I'll check out the add-on, but I've also attached a screenshot to illustrate. I'm using a spam email for example, and you see how it wants me to send the email using the spammer's name and email headers.
Hi there, I have the same problem here: When I choose the edit as new option in the write window at the sender's name appears the name and the email of the user who sent that mail, not my default identity, I've checked also the Folder Account addon and it doesn't work how I expected.
Thanks.
It's a new problem in Thunderbird 45. It will probably be fixed in one of the next point releases.
