Add new contact in address book does not "highlight"; can't add.

The add new contact/list commands in my address book stopped functioning. They aren't highlighted so I can't add new entries. Properties, write and delte function options work.

Please confirm something as there have been some changes recently. Note: You cannot add a new contact if the 'All Address Books' is selected.

New Method: Click on 'Address book' to open the 'Address Book' showing all various address books. Click on 'Personal Address Book' click on 'New Contact'

Alternative: right click on an address book (NOT 'All Address Books') and select 'New contact'.

If this does not seem to work: Please select an address book eg: 'Personal Address Book'. Does the 'New contact' button on the 'address book toolbar' become normal not greyed out? Please post image showing this.

Thanks! I couldn't see the "address book" pane. Went to view, clicked layout and discovered that I didn't have the "directory pane" checked. Clicked that, clicked Personal A B; voila! As H. Simpson would say, "Doh"! Thanks again 1
