When playing games in Facebook, my cursor is sluggish and floats around like it's in honey. How do I make it move normally?

I just installed Firefox last night. I use windows 8. When moving the cursor there is a lag time between when I move it & when it actually moves causing me to over and under the item I am clicking. It's a farm type game, so nothing rapid or radical in the movements.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I did check as requested, all my graphics and other programs are current. I am not going to disable a protective mode as a work around???? I went to the Adobe site and verified I have the current update. The troubleshooting thread had nothing to do with my problem.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
