POP server (Gmail) downloads from Spam folder

Thunderbird downloads from Gmail (a POP server) spam folder. It should only download from the "Inbox", isn't this correct? Gmail is not IMAP, which would dl all folders? Downloaded phishing and spam emails which come from the Gmail spam folder always have an incorrect time stamp.

I think you're encountering one of gmail's idiosyncrasies. In Gmail, there is really only one folder. Thunderbird downloads to inbox and moves them to spam folder.

No, what's happening is Gmail is moving the phish to spam, but Tbird is downloading it anyway. Can you set Tbird to just download what is in the Inbox?
