re :I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled Thunderbird four times -

Let's be clear, there are very few instances when anyone would need to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird. The reason being usually issues have nothing to do with the program itself.

re :I can NOT get any of the folders from Outlook to show up

Check you have the following setting:

  • 'View' > 'Folders' > 'All' - ( disable/de-select any others that may be selected)

Confirm you have that setting.

Q: Do you see the account name in the Folder Pane ? Post an image showing the Folder Pane so we can see what you see.

Q: Do you mean you have an imap mail account set up to access the office365 server? If yes, then post the following information so we can check you are using correct settings.

  • 'Account Settings' > 'Server Settings' for the outlook account.
  • post image which shows all the top section - Server Type, server name, port, connection security, authentication method.

Q: Are you talking about a microsoft email addess - does it end with @hotmail.com or @live.com or @outlook.com ?

In Thunderbird

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • Scroll down to 'Mail and News Accounts' section
  • Copy all data and paste it into this forum question.

If Imap account - check the subscribing.

  • Right click on the outlook account name in Folder Pane (assuming it exists)
  • select 'Subscribe'
  • Click on 'Refresh'
  • Select all folders, so they have the checkbox and are highlighted
  • click on 'Subscribe'
  • Click on 'OK'

Q: What did you see in the subscribe list ?

Q: Are you getting any errors that say cannot access server or requesting password etc ? If yes, please post an image of that error pop up message.

Q: Have you deleted the outlook account from Thunderbird? Q: Have you deleted/removed the outlook email from microsoft account via browser?

Q: Have you considered setting it up on server via webmail to auto forward emails from outlook to gmail account ?
