Firefox not connecting w/ web sites

more options

I installed Firefox from windows app store, because it would not install from the Mozilla download. It did install however it will not connect with any web address. Absolutely none, I have tried all the typical solutions and none have worked. I had Firefox for many years. I had to uninstall and do a fresh install. I am on a desktop running Windows 10 Pro X64. Please Help! I hate Chrome, (it is working but, I hate it).

Additional: There are no error messages, just endless spinning arrow in the tab. I had to connect with Support through Chrome because Firefox will not connect with 'Help' in the dropdown menu. I have always used Firefox without 'signing in' with Mozilla, Firefox, Google, or anything and prefer to continue that way. I don't like the 'signing-in' scam; please don't tell me I have to sign-in to use Firefox.

Chosen solution

At the very least first check the Connection Settings area to make sure "No Proxy" is selected: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can#w_firefox-connection-settings

If that doesn't work, we'll have to check your firewall settings next. Also do you use a VPN?

You do not need to sign Firefox in to a Mozilla Account just for normal browsing.

Does anything in the following article help: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can

Hello, are you able to help me with my problem of installing Firefox so that it works? I installed from Windows Store because it wouldn't install from the Mozilla site. It installed but, will not connect with any web sites. Is there something missing form the installation ? Is there some other problem. Please help and Please don't just send me to a template fix it page with a dozen 'try this try that' items.

Are you able to Help? If not can you connect me with a Mozilla or Firefox technician?

Currently, this forum is the only official venue for support, and anyone supporting Firefox should be checking the points in that article with you (I guess it's a template, but you have to start somewhere).

You're very welcome Full Moon! If you don't have a VPN, you're ok. Sometimes if you use one, certain sites will fail to connect but not tell you why. So it was good to make sure you didn't have one.

Again, thanks a million. There are a lot of setting choices in Privacy and Security; are there other basic setting adjustments you can suggest for getting the most trouble free performance from Firefox? I used to have the Duck Duck Go add-on ; should I avoid that? ; does it really provide an extra level of privacy? Also, I never messed with setting up a VPN because I don't truly understand what it is or how it helps me. Am I passing on something I really should implement?

Any 1 of these questions answered will be welcomed; or pointing me to some 'average user' guide written in the most non-technical language. Best, FMB
