I have been away from home for 18 months so haven't been using Thunderbird. On my return, when I open Thunderbird I get messages such as "Enter your password for 'name' on imap.mail.me.com" where 'name' is the bit before @ in my email address. I have tried what I thought was the password for the account but to no avail. Can I find this password somehow?

mail.me.com is an apple property, a part of icloud if I understand it. So you would need to contact them to determine your password there.
