I've been using Thunderbird for some time now. But once in a while, as now, it decides to download all my emails AGAIN in every folder ( I can see it doing this on the bar at the bottom of my screen). I have 3 emails in Thunderbird and dozens of folders in each. So when it starts to do this, it almost completely slows down my Windows 10 laptop to a crawl for over 45 minutes. 1. Why is is doing this at all - since I already have all my email? 2. Is there some way to stop it? (If I close Thunderbird, it just starts up again when I open it) It seems to happen every month or so. 3. Can I manually schedule it ? to some time when I don't desperately need to have access? Like NOW!

Thanks

There are a few reasons. We need to learn more about your system and account(s)?

1. Is it a gmail account? If not, what ISP? 2. Is it a pop account, or imap? 3. What antivirus SW do you run?
