How to configure Thunderbird to only send messages, not receive when I open the software?

I will want that Thunderbird receive messages after opened, but not automatically: I need that Thunderbird when open only send messages. Outlook also.

Go to Account Settings > Server Settings and uncheck 'check for new mail'
