Mozilla made an update of my Firefox installation on my Win11 laptop. all my password disappeared as well as my history and bookmarks.

I have now a virgin installation and is starting from scratch.

Now I get this error message: "This profile was last used with a newer version of this application. Please create a new profile." I deleted met shortcut and I opened Firefox by using Windows search. Now I see 4 profiles! I think I do not need to create a new profile. Maybe delete 3 of them ? What to do ? And, how?

I have downloaded this plugin, but I cannot find any advice on how to operate it. I have opened a page (which I have created) rendering part of a high res iiif image, whose whole iiif pyramid is available for viewing. But I cannot find any button that activates the plugin.

The plugin promises "With this addon installed, you will be able to download the highest available resolution for files available on digital libraries compatible with the IIIF protocol."

How can I download the whole high res image?

I have configured Firefox to use a proxy, and I stored the credentials in the password manager. However, every time I open Firefox, it asks me to enter the credentials again.

How can I store the proxy credentials persistently?

Hi, I use Firefox as a primary browser on multiple PCs, so want it to remember a couple of addresses & payment methods for easy daily useage. However, I also access one business domain & when using that website only, I don't want Firefox to offer/remember/anything when it comes to addresses (which will be customer addresses) or payment details (again, for customers). Other autofill, like suggestions for some form fields would ideally still work.

Is there are way to make one domain exempt from address & payment saving/retrieval?

I am running Windows 11. Firefox 144.0 (64-bit)

When entering search terms into the search bar in the centre of the page, the information typed appears in the address bar, even after following the fix described in 1284577.

Treating the address bar as the search bar appears to be the default. While the user can additionally deselect the search engine in the address bar, that is an unnecessary and undesired additional step for every search (the primary reason I am using Firefox)

Is there a way to permanently set the default for what I enter into the search bar to remain in the search bar and not to be managed by the address bar? Thanks, Rich

Hello, I'd like your help. I'd like to disable some unnecessary options from the Firefox right-click menu. 1. Open link in new tab 2. Open link in new container tab 3. Open link in new private window 4. Save link as 5. Copy link I don't need these five options, so I'd like to disable them if possible.

j'ai l'habitude de faire mes recherches sur la barre de recherche centrale et non sur l'url. Bien que le curseur soit positionné dessus, je ne peux pas y écrire, je suis redirigée sur l'url. J'ai bien mis à false la ligne qui convient dans about:config, mais ce n'est toujours pas possible. Que faut il faire ?

With the old FIREFOX Start/home page I could have up to 4 lines of bookmarks showing on my start up/home page, but now there are only 8 showing. Can I add more, and if so how? Thanks

Have tried different solutions like Malware product and cleaning cashe and cookies. When I search a known safe site I get redirect by Convertitmas stating the (known safe) site is unsafe. Best regards Henrik Nygaard

I've been searching for three days now for a solution that will work to restore my profile from a crashed windows-7 machine to my new windows-11. Nothing listed in any forum or help desk works as described. I used to be able to just rename the folder to the exact file name on the new PC, but windows 11 won't let me do anything. It always needs admin permissions and even after I activated the admin account and assigned a password, I still cannot copy to the folder or rename the folder. Every attempt to do this on W-11 fails. It shouldn't be that hard and I'm tired of wasting days playing with this. I have important bookmarks, passwords etc. I want restored, and I need help. Nobody wants to pick up a phone anymore to assist!

I have never used "sync" because I have multiple PCs and each used for different applications and yes some go back to W-7, the operating system that actually worked well. Each PC has Firefox and a distinct bookmark file.

I went to "about:profiles" and created a new profile thinking I could copy to the new folder, but when i switched profiles I couldn't get back to the original default! HELP!

Since version 148.0b2 (64-bit), it's once again not possible to enter search terms in the search box of a new tab; instead, the browser searches in the address bar. I've had all the settings I found in the forums configured correctly for over five years, and they haven't changed. - browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar = False. Despite this, the search still occurs in the address bar. Now I'm back to the awful search in the address bar. How can I fix this? Please fix this bug as soon as possible.

Jetzt geht es aber wieder mit der Schrecklichen suchen in der Adresszeile los. Wie kann ich dies ändern? Bitte diesen Fehler (Bug) schnellst möglich beheben.

how do you disable or unreaveal when the mouse hovers over the task bar (search bar) at the top while in full screen mode (f-11) to me this annoying when the mouse enters that section of the screen. chrome does not do this. Is there a way to toggle off a switch in a setting? if not, can one be added.

When I logged in this morning my FireFox screen had changed. The window for searches had disappeared and the "pocket" selections were all about India and its events. None of the previous options were there. What happened and how do I get back to where things were?
