Firefox is my default browser, but often shows my location wrong in my home location. Google chrome and maps shows it correctly. Please tell me where firefox thinks I am and how I might correct it.

Every time I see a box to enter a username or on some websites, any box that needs information filled in, a pop-up box appears that says "unlock your password manager." I was finally able to get to a website at moz-extension://b5ea3638-1832-4174-a490-4c5e77c0dbc6/html/index.html. The page says "Welcome My Financial Expert Password Manager securely stores, organizes, and autofills your logins, passwords, and more. Sign in to get started." Is this a legitimate mozilla extension? Is this a scam? How do I get rid of it (it's REALLY annoying!)? Thank you for your help and any insight.

Fire fox wont allow Prowriting aid to run. Its a desktop app and should be able to run. I have tried updating both programs. Changed settings and done everything I can think of but it still wont work. I dont wish to change Browsers but may be forced to if this problem cant be fixed

Hello, I'm really confused about the autofill feature. I've been using this feature for years and noticed that on some website the password field is filled in, but the username is not. I searched the support pages and forum topics, and it seems that is a very common issue. According to what I read, it could be either:

1. The webmaster decided to tell the browser not to fill in the username, but let the password to be filled in.
2. The webpage use some out of standard approach to name the username field, so Firefox is unable to recognize it.

What annoys me is that there's no way to understand if it's the first or the second case, so you just accept it.

It would be very helpful if Firefox could:

1. Provide a way to understand what the real problem is.
2. Add an option to override moronic security approach of the web designer, so the "do-not-fill-in-this-field" property is overridden.

All the icons in my Bookmark Toolbar have been working great with no errors for several years, through countless updates with no problem. Then, recently I noticed all the icons lost the color icons and just show as a wire globe. Clicking on them, any one of them, they all go to the same website. If I remove them, got to the website I want there, and drag the URL to the bookmark bar, things are back to normal for that icon. So I replaced each one, and the next day, when I open Firefox, all the icons are again wire globes. It seems that Firefox will not retain the URL for any of the icons.

Very strange.

Probably the wrong topic, but I can't access two NY Times daily puzzles for the last couple of months after using them with this browser for more than a year before that on this pc and this browser.

I receive the message "Non-compliant action. The current operation is blocked by your IT administrator. Click 'OK' to continue." when going to https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html. That URL works fine on Edge, but I like to keep all my personal activity on Firefox and use Edge for my consulting work with clients.

Similarly, but not quite the same, Connections (https://www.nytimes.com/games/connections?GAMES_connectionsRollout_1130=1_ConnectionsV2) displays non-HTML formatted text, see added image.

Working my way through all NYT puzzles, 2 give non-HTLM text while the rest give the "Non compliant action error".

I would appreciate your help.

Firefox will not allow me to connect to a portal I've been using for years. It gives a "SEC ERROR REVOKED CERTIFICATE" I can connect using another browser. What's up?

The website wouldn't open for me, so I decided to restart Firefox, after which it closed all my tabs and tab groups. My settings are set to "keep tabs after closing the browser." This hasn't happened before.

A user I am servicing uses Firefox every day. They are on Windows 11. Every afternoon (sometimes at other times), Firefox stops working and loses its internet connection (everything else on their computer continues to be connected). When they close and restart Firefox to reconnect, it then tells me the user that they are using an old profile and need to create a new one. They're able to re-log into their Firefox account, which eventually resyncs all their data, but they then have to re-sign into everything, which is a major inconvenience. The only workaround the I have found is to reinstall Firefox, ever time this happens which then allows the user to use all their settings until they have to repeat the process the next day (i.e., everything remains signed in and/or logging back in is easier than described above).

Here's some additional information and trouble testing we've conducted:

Uninstall and Reinstall of Fire fox

Check for updates (Updated to new version and still suffered the same issue)

Cleared cache and cookies

No extensions

Please if anyone has any advice or recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

I made my post originally on the 3/9/26 but no one has gotten back to me, so I am creating another post.

Just this week I found it was impossible to get to firefox browsing until I chose an upsetting blob as my profile. Is there anyway to skip this step or at least to change that blob to something that makes a more pleasant experience?

Just this week firefox has been demanding that I choose a profile before I gain access. Can I skip this step? And how can I change the unpleasant blob that I must choose. I have got one answer which requests a screen shot but I can't find my question to attach it. (I can't find the old search questions--but I'm most elderly.) and need links or reminders. Anyway, I'll put the screen shot here.
