My browser updated and now I've lost all my logins and passwords. Anyone know how I get this information back?

I have tried to find the old Firefox Backup on the desktop and the only one I have is from Dec 2024 - no backup from yesterday.

This has just started happening today. When I open FF my recent tabs do NOT open. I have the option selected in settings to open with recent tabs. In history I do not have the option to re-open recently closed tabs.

Any suggestions how to fix this defect?

how do i recover all the tabs I had open? I do not have and have not had the option to "Restore previous session". I did go to recover tabs, but it was not all of them. Then I tried scrounger.html and that did not work.

I am using Ubuntu 22.04. Firefox version is 143.0. IIRC firefox recently updated. I have the setting "Open previous windows and tabs" checked. Until very recently it has always worked but now when Firefox is closed all tabs are lost and don't appear when reopening Firefox. How to fix???

Hello- Wondering how to turn off the "skip to main content" that continually pops-up on some web sites. This is a problem on a single Firefox installation and I cannot figure out which setting this could be.

Just noticed today my firefox search bar has changed. I'm on Ver 143.0.4

Before I could click on it and it would show my recent visited websites. Now it shows nothing unless I choose history from the down error however after I go to a website I no longer have the option to click in and see my history again. I need to open a new tab.

Any idea how I can change this back as It seems like a very bad feature.

Never had an issue printing google maps until a few weeks ago. Now the print function brings up the page header but no map. The map prints every time when I switch to Chrome. I opened the troubleshooting information page and clicked saved print settings in the printing section. That did not fix the issue.

I want to share my extremely frustrating experience while trying to create desktop shortcuts for Firefox profiles. I have two profiles, and despite following all standard methods (including manually navigating to the profile folders), nothing worked. The usual steps, including directly creating shortcuts from the profile folder or using suggested tools, failed.

I specifically wanted a way to create exact shortcuts for each profile without manually editing anything. Even after testing everything, the only option left seems to be permanently leaving the profile inside Firefox and opening it from there, which defeats the purpose of quick access.

Due to this unnecessarily complicated process and lack of practical solutions, I have decided to leave Firefox permanently and switch to another browser.

Has anyone successfully created direct shortcuts for multiple Firefox profiles in Windows 11 without manual editing? Any practical advice would be appreciated, although I’m already moving away from Firefox.

Why do some websites not work fully on Firefox but work fine using Chrome or Edge? I had an issue with https://www.acmemarkets.com/. The product search feature of the web site did not work using Firefox but worked fine using Chrome or Edge. This has only recently started to be an issue.

When I discover that I have already bookmarked a URL, I want to easily discover in which of my folder(s) I have saved the bookmark. In some cases, the hosting site morphs the bookmarked URL with a redirect, so I am unable to discover the containing folder by browsing to the URL. Sigh. I would also like to discover situations where I have already bookmarked a single URL in several different folders.

I have downloaded the JSON for my bookmarks file and parsed the JSON. I now know that I have 7388 URLs bookmarked which are saved across 111 folders.

I am having trouble discovering the parent/child relationships between the various folders in which the bookmarks are saved. I have several situations where child folders have the same names and can be identified only when the child's parent folder is known.

Undated Firefox documentation at [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d.../BookmarkTreeNode#parentid] suggests that each node in the bookmark tree should have a parentid and an index. I see an index but I do not see a parentid. I do see a GUID field. I have seen comments suggesting that parentid has been replaced by GUID.

But the values I see (GUID=FqNNI0k91ZjW, for example) do not make sense and have no connection to the ID fields (ID=2658, for example).

Can anyone help me make sense of the GUID values I am seeing? Are GUIDs now being hashed for some reason?

Latest update on Ubuntu force reset the sidebar. Reminder for those that do not want, the process to remove it is:

• Go into about:config in the address bar,
• search for sidebar.revamp,
• set it to false.

Hi, I created mozilla account and turned on synchronization to save my passwords, history, etc. After I done it, I formatted my pc. Now I've just downloaded mozilla and log in to my account to see that NONE of my data were saved... How is it even possible? I turned synchronization on and then selected which data I want to save. Will you be able to help my with that?

Im experiencing crashes in and out of troubleshoot mode, often several in a row. The drivers on my device have no futher updates and Im unsure what to do. thank you for your time & expertise:) Can you please help me understand what would happen if firefox stops supporting windows 7 users. Will i still be able to use the browser - just with less security? I will probably have to give up using a computer if I cant continue with Windows 7 so I'd even be prepared to pay an annual fee to keep the support going.
