followed links not highlighted
With the older versions of Firefox when I followed a link (on TPB.org for example) and then went "back" to the previous page the link was identified by dots around the link. This was very useful as it identified where I was on the page. Can I make the new version do this?

Is the history working correctly otherwise?
Do you get a visited color change on visited links?
You aren't in Private Browsing mode?
Do all browser.display prefs have the default value on the about:config page?
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
- Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
- Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
- Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
- Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)
History works fine. There is no color change on visited links on the site (thepiratebay.org). When I click on the green arrow it takes me to "utorrent" rather than forward. I have to click on Firefox to return to the page. Not using Private Browsing.
Does it work if you open links in a new tab with a middle-click if you currently aren't doing that?
Sorry, I don't know what a middle click is.
A middle-click is a click with the mouse scroll wheel.
If you click a link with the mouse wheel then you open that link in a new tab.
A "middle-click" changed my scroll wheel to resize text ????????
Are you middle clicking a link when that happens?
In other cases the result of a middle click is different.
Yes I was. Have you tried to duplicate my problem by using version 3 ?
What are the wheel settings for the mouse in the Control Panel > Mouse ?
Those should be default.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Thank you very much for trying to help solve my problem. I've just gone back to 3.6 as it does everything I need. I'm well protected so security won't be an issue. Again, thanks. Dave
