I get a double blue bar at the top of the browser. Click close or the X in any other but the top blue bar does nothing. Additionally it does not allow me to go back to the previous webpage I was on. This is also affecting my "task list" in SalesForce as I can't scroll down my tasks or see the number of tasks I have to do. This happened approximately two or so months ago. I tried unistalling Firefox and reinstalling but that has not removed the problem.

Do you have a multiple monitor setup or only one monitor?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 and later Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
