Using Firefox 60.0.1.

I select "Show your windows and tabs from last time." But when I close, and re-open, Firefox, all my prior tabs are missing, and the option has been reset to "Show your home page."

Firefox does to me this over and over again. I select "Show your windows and tabs from last time" but it defaults back to "Show your home page" and I lose all my tabs. My selection is not sticking. REALLY frustrating.

Before Quantum, I used Session Manager to save my old tabs, and it worked perfect.

I see you also responded in this question.

Make sure to remove the Session Manager add-on in your current Firefox version and restart it - small chance, but it may still interfere.

If that doesn’t help it, create a new profile, launch Firefox with it and see how Firefox behaves there when changing the homepage setting. You can check the prefs.js file in your profile folder to see if the changes really apply. The timestamp for the file should indicate any other software being responsible for preventing modifications and restoring it. You should see user_pref("browser.startup.page", 3); when "Show your windows and tabs from last time" is chosen, and the line/number should change on the fly.

Also make sure there is no file called user.js in your profile folder that may prevent the setting from being changed.

Note that Firefox 60+ supports policies, so it is possible that your computer is configured in a way that prevents opening tabs from the previous session if you use a company device.
