After being updated, Firefox won't start unless you kill it

For several months, each time Firefox installs an update, it will then fail to start. I will open Task Manager, see the "Firefox" task, and end it. Then I will start Firefox again, and this time it opens.

This only happens right after an update has been installed. The Firefox window will only open after I end the Firefox task and restart it. This workaround always works, it's just a hassle. The update is installing - after I get Firefox open again, I can go to Help -> About Firefox and it will tell me it's on the latest version.

I have reinstalled Firefox several times and even switched from Developer Edition back to the main channel.

I looked at a possibly related problem (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1201695) but I don't have a Logitech camera and I don't see any Firefox-related errors in my Windows Application Logs.

Thanks for helping me with this!

I'm only using the security software that came with Windows 10. I went into the Allowed Apps screen for my firewall and removed all the Firefox entries I could. The Firefox installation I'm using now lives in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox, and I removed that one; there's an entry for C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox that I can't remove, but that doesn't seem to be an actual folder, so I guess that's okay.

Firefox updated to 60.0 just now and the problem recurred. What should I try next?
