Firefox crashes without crash report at least once a day

Since the last update FireFox crashes at least once a day without sending a crash report or anything else, it just closes without so much as a warning. When this happens I lose everything. I checked my whole system. No virus, no malware, Internet connection at 100%. Everything runs as it should, apart from FireFox ...

I run Windows 8.1

So .... a) Fix it, I'm not the only one with this problem, and b) what's the point of enabling crash reports if it doesn't work anyway?

Does anyone know what causes this? Should I use another browser until Mozilla gets their act together?

What were you doing at the time? What web pages were you on? How long is the browser on when this happens?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?
