Hi, Earlier today, I was trying to download a file and I was surprised to see that the save dialog did not open. I did not really get bothered and I simply right click to "save as" and it worked great. Although, a bit later I stumbled on a website that I could not use that trick on. Naturally, I decided to reset Firefox in Safe Mode and I was pleased to see that it worked great. So once I relaunch it normally, I disabled every single one of my add-ons, reset again to be safe, and still nothing. Is there an option in about:config that could have been messed up making me unable to download things correctly?

Thanks for your help.

I switched my screen around and it works. I don't know if it was because the pop-up was appearing out of bounds (on a disable screen that I barely use) or if it's the update, but today it works perfectly. Thanks "cor-el" for your help and sorry for wasting your time.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

I've tried disabling hardware acceleration and it did not help. Going into the two links, I've tried everything that was offered and it still did not help. Well, everything but "Checking extension settings" since I assumed by disabling it, it would have fix it.
